Teresa Moran of Acadiana Comics & Collectibles in Lafayette is asking the public to donate blood to help her husband Jerry, who is recovering from surgery at a local hospital.

The family of Jerry Moran, owner of Acadiana Comics and Collectibles, is asking for help. Jerry Moran is in need of surgery, but Lourdes is having difficulty finding blood with the needed antigens.  His wife Teresa says that because his antigens are difficult to match, the more people that donate will speed up the finding of a matching donor. She says anyone with blood type A or O, positive or negative, can donate.
If you can help, the Morans are asking you to please contact the Lourdes Blood Donor Center at (337) 470-4483. The center is open weekdays from 8 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. until noon.

You also can donate at any local blood bank, but must make it clear that the blood is to be used for Jerry Moran. Donors will also need to provide Jerry's birthdate, September 28th, 1951.

The Lourdes Blood Center will have staff members at tomorrow's Relay for Life and at the Heartstarter event in the Cajundome and tell KATC that donors can give for Jerry at both events.
