Dulles Drive to be Closed for 18 Months
As part of Lafayette Consolidated Government's plan to widen the roadway, Dulles Drive will be closed for 18 months.
LCG's Department of Public Works Traffic Engineering & Development Section released a statement today that announces the closure, set to begin February 3, 2020.
NEWS RELEASE – ROAD CLOSURE
The Public Works Department announced today that Dulles Dr. will be closed from the eastern part of its intersection with Westgate Rd. (LA 93) to the western part of its intersection with N. Domingue Rd. beginning Monday, February 3rd, for approximately 1.5 years, weather permitting. The project generally entails widening of Dulles Drive from two lanes to three lanes from eastern side of its intersection with Westgate Rd. (LA 93) through Ambassador Caffery.
The suggested detour routes include Domingue Road, Congress, and Rue de Belier.
Growing pains are never easy or pleasant, but the benefits to be reaped after the inconvenience are well worth the wait. Right? (Kaliste Saloom Road, I'm referring to you!)
Drive safe.
