Local Louisiana Businesses Step Up To Provide Free School Supplies For Students

If you are in need of school supplies this year, there are several opportunities to find some help in our area.

Anyone who has purchased school supplies knows how costly it is, and several businesses in our area are trying to help.

Fighter Dustin Poirier returns with his Good Fight Foundation's annual school supply giveaway and that will happen on Saturday, August 3.

According to the group, the giveaway will be from 9 AM to 12 PM (or until supplies last). The event will take place at Service Chevrolet-Cadillac, located at 1212 Ambassador Caffery.

For this event, there will be a backpack filled with school supplies that will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis, and there is a limit of three backpacks per vehicle.

In addition to the backpacks, this will be an event that features music with DJ Digital and food being donated by Deano's Pizza.

The following day there will be another opportunity to get school supplies and attend a free event with your children.

Another event is also scheduled for Sunday, August 4th at Bayou Braces at 3259 Ambassador Caffery.

The day will include a party at Bayou Braces with a bounce house, face painting, games, and food.

While there, officials will be doing gift card giveaways for school uniforms and Foot Locker gift cards for purchasing shoes.

The Back to School Giveaway will feature free school supplies, while they last. The event will be from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
