It's amazing how far YouTube has come in the last twelve years.

The very first YouTube video was posted by co-founder Jawed Karim. Karim stands in front of a few elephants and explains why he thinks they are cool. The video was posted on April 23, 2005 and has over 39 million views as of today.

YouTube has come a long way since then, with billions of videos watched each day since that first video was posted. Here's our very first YouTube video, featuring one of our listeners moon-walking to some Michael Jackson we played at his request.
