The Louisiana Department of Revenue says there is $4.4 million in unclaimed tax refunds. Officials say they've notified more than 7,000 taxpayers that they have until Aug. 24 to claim their refund.

Money not claimed by that  date will revert to the Unclaimed Property Division of the state treasurer's office.  Taxpayers who wish to claim refunds will have to submit  vouchers requesting  replacement refund checks. Vouchers were issued with the notification letters.
