(Lafayette, Louisiana) - If you or someone you know receives Supplemental Security Income, commonly called SSI, we have some good news for you: early payment is coming in October.

If you receive this federal benefit, your check often arrives on the first of the month, but that won't be the case in November. That's right, the check will either be in the mailbox or in your account a bit earlier.

Some recipients will get their check early because November 1 falls on a Sunday.

So, if you're wondering how early the Nov. payout will arrive, well, it will show up either in your mailbox or bank account one day early.

According to the Social Security website, recipients will receive their regular October payment on Thursday, Oct. 1, followed by their November payment on Friday, Oct. 30. That's great news for those who rely heavily on this payment.

Now, just because recipients receive two checks in Oct., that doesn't mean this is a "bonus check"; it's just the Nov. check arriving early because the first of the month falls on a Thursday.

Not to scare anyone who receives SSI, but because your Nov. payment arrives on Friday, Oct. 30, you technically won't receive a payment in Nov.

Who Receives Social Security Payments

According to the Social Security Office, over 7 million people in the United States qualify and receive these payments each month. To qualify, you must meet certain criteria and have a low annual income.

In Louisiana, 154,188 people were receiving SSI as of August. The most an individual can receive monthly is $994, and a couple's max payment is $1,491.
