Community Home Health And Hospice Gumbo CookOff This Saturday

The Annual Community Home Health & Hospice Gumbo Cook-Off Fundraiser will be held at Sugar Mill Pond this Saturday, March 21, 2015.

The event is open from 9am - 5pm, and the entry fee is $10 per person (children under 12 get in free), and the line-up will feature Johnny Chauvin, Dustin Sonnier and Jamie Bergeron.

This fundraising event is in support of the Non-Profit foundation called “Lollie's Closet”, the sister organization of Community Home Health & Hospice.  Lollie's Closet assists hospice patients and their families with funding to offset any expenses that they incur throughout the duration of their hospice care. With your help and support, items can be provided to these patients like handicap ramps, home modifications, medical expenses and so much more. By bringing your family and friends to this family fun day gumbo cook-off at Sugar Mill Pond you will help Lollie's Closet support those in need to provide a better quality of life till the end.

All proceeds go directly to Lollie’s Closet. You can take part in this fundraising event by:

• Becoming a sponsor.  The levels available are Platinum ($1,000), Gold ($750), Silver ($500) – All sponsor levels include cooking entries & wristbands
• Enter a team.  Each cooking team entry fee is $100.00 per category with 10×10 area (3 Categories: Gumbo & Sausage, Seafood, & Wild Game)- $25.00 per additional entry.  Entry deadline is March 18, 2015
• Buy vendor booth space.  Vendor booth space is $100.00 for 10×10 area

It will be a full day of fun, cooking and activities for family and friends to attend. Gates will open at 6am for all cooking teams and 9am to the public. Judging of gumbo will begin at noon. There will be face painting, balloon artists, fun jumps and kayaking for children. Enjoy live entertainment by Dustin Sonnier and the Wanted, Johnny Chauvin & the Mojo Band, and Jamie Bergeron & the Kickin’ Cajuns. There will be door prizes, a live auction, and awards for best gumbo and people’s choice. Come out and taste some gumbo, listen to live music, and bring the kids to enjoy the activities.
