Imagine you are just trying to get around, but then you are suddenly struck. This is what happened to Jacque Fritz this past Saturday night in Lafayette. According to Lafayette Police officials Fritz was hit was riding his motorized bike in the 4300 block of the Northwest Evangeline Thruway Frontage Road.

Thankfully, Fritz ended up not being alone that night according to our news partners at KATC.

A couple that was driving along in this same area in Carencro did the right thing by stopping to help Fritz. They stayed with and tended to Fritz's needs until police officials and paramedics arrived to take the man to the hospital for treatment.

Megan and Charles White were coming back from grocery shopping when Megan saw a shoe in the road. When they stopped to investigate what was happening Charles found Jacque almost completely unable to speak or move. He was lying on the grass on the side of the road while Megan was talking to 911 about getting help out to the scene.

Krystal Romero says the couple saved her brother's life. She says she really believes they were her brother's guardian angels, and now she will be hosting a baby shower for the couple. They are expecting their fourth child.

Here is what Megan had to say about what they saw that night,

We doubled back and went a little slower and we saw him just in the grass on the side. Him and his bike, (Jacque) wasn't moving and we immediately pulled over. Charles jumped right out of the car and went speak with him and I didn't even know he was conscious. I was on the phone with 911.

Thank goodness this couple decided to investigator because had they not, there is a good change Jacque would not be alive today.

A huge 'thank you' to Megan and Chris for being this man's guardian angel.

Lafayette Police, later on, did arrest 25-year-old on one Felony Hit and Run. He was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
