LSU Head Coach Brian Kelly joined ESPN's crew Thursday night prior to the NFL Draft and one of his old rivals, Nick Saban, had some encouraging words for Coach Kelly's 2024 team.

The former Alabama coach is now part of ESPN's crew on "College GameDay" and what he said at the end of this segment should have LSU fans excited.

Coach Kelly was on the set to discuss the three LSU players who went in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, and then things switched to the pressure that Coach Kelly is under at LSU.

Other program's success at LSU was brought up to end this segment on the show and Coach Kelly was reminded that LSU fans want the football program to win its next national championship.

Kelly recognized that other teams at LSU have had much success and that he knows what the expectations are of LSU fans. Then, Nick Saban jumped into the conversation and said that if LSU fixes their defense, they would contend for the national championship this year.

If you're a fan of LSU Football you already know that the coaching staff on the defensive side of the ball has been overhauled and changes are coming.

Apparently, the former coach of Alabama sees that LSU has what it takes to compete for a national championship and that with the right adjustments, LSU Football will be just fine in 2024.

Let the fun begin.
