Canadians are no longer allowed to compete on a TV that features a Canadian host. How weird is that, eh? Longtime Jeopardy host Alex Trebek is a native of Sudbury, Ontario, and frequently lets his national pride show. So, why would he have anything to do with excluding his countrymen from competing on the popular game show? It was neither his decision, nor that of producers. The New York Daily News reports, it's the Canadian government making contestants from north of the border ineligible. There is reportedly an issue with Canadian online privacy laws. The issue hasn't publicly been made clear, according to the Toronto Star.
