Britney Spears Donating Ticket Profits To Help With Flood Recovery
Britney Spears is giving back to her home state by donating some of the money made from her Vegas shows to help schools damaged by last August's floods.
Spears says that $1 of every ticket sold through the end of the year will go to public schools in Louisiana. The donations will go to a fund that will help schools and teachers buy instructional materials. The Advocate says that the donation was arranged through First Lady Donna Edwards and Britney's mother, Lynne, who are both from the same parish and were teachers there themselves.
Spears said in a news release that she is 'so proud to be able to give back to my home state and help the Louisiana School Boards Association.'
