Sometimes it's not what you say that will get you into trouble with your boss and coworkers, but what your body is screaming instead.

Business Insider has come up with 4 body language mistakes in the workplace.  Many people don't even realize they do these.  If you want to get ahead, be aware of what your body is screaming to the people you work with.

Don't cross your arms.  This makes you look standoffish.

Want to look nervous or worse, bored?  That's what your body is saying when you tap your feet.

To appear unprepared, just look upwards when you answer a question.

And watch your feet.  Pointing your toes away from someone signals you are ready to end the conversation.

looking upwards when you answer a question makes you look unprepared . . . and when you're sitting down with someone, don't point your toes away from them, because it's a sign you want to end the conversation.

When it comes to the workplace, it's not always what you say from the neck up, but what the rest of you is saying.
