Halloween is still 5 weeks away. In today's world, that seems to go by in about a day & a half. Americans are expected to spend record amounts of money on the unofficial holiday this year. The National Retail Federation is expecting a record  9.1 billion dollars to be spent on the annual celebration of spooks, ghosts & goblins. Nearly 180 million Americans are expected to participate in Halloween celebrations, up from 171 million last year. They'll also spend more, an average of $86.00, up from last year's $83.00.

“Americans are planning to spend more than ever as they gear up for Halloween. Retailers are helping customers celebrate in style with a huge selection of costumes, candy and decorations to cater to ghosts and goblins of all ages.”   - NRF President and CEO Matthew Shay
