ABBEVILLE, La. (KPEL) -- Police in Abbeville have given the "all clear" after searching classrooms at Abbeville High School Friday afternoon after a letter was found declaring a bomb threat, according to Vermilion Parish School System officials.

Students are reportedly being allowed back to class after police thoroughly searched the school with bomb-sniffing dogs.

School system superintendent Jerome Puyau said students were evacuated to the gym while the school was searched.

Surveillance video is being checked to see who was in the room in which the letter was found, Puyau said.
