The 7th Annual Stir the Pot: Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off and Festival will take place on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Palmetto Island State Park.

The day begins at 11am and includes a seafood and wild game cook-off, music by The Beau Young Band and DJ Mike Darby, raffles, silent and live auctions, nature-related events and a fun-filled day at the state park.

Prizes in each division for the cook-off include:

  • 1st Place: $300
  • 2nd Place: $200
  • 3rd Place: $100

Teams consist of 4 people each, and can set up the night prior to the event. There will be a mandatory 9am meeting for all teams on Saturday morning.

Admission to the event is only $5 for an all-you-can-taste bracelet, which allows you to sample all of the cook-off entries, while supplies last. For those who do not eat seafood or wild game, hamburgers will be available for purchase.

Proceeds from the event will be placed into the Friends of Palmetto Island State Park fund. This fund benefits the park through enhancement projects, volunteering, promoting and providing events and programs at the park for visitors and locals to enjoy.
