As we countdown the days to Thanksgiving, many of us are excited about the meal, while some may even be excited about the company and family you'll see.

However, there's always one or two in every family who say a bit too much or one who is too loud at the dinner table.

So, we'll note a few things here that you may hear from a "Cajun Man" while at the Thanksgiving dinner table.

Let's start with sports, you are likely going to hear how bad the New Orleans Saints are. While the team may not be as bad as "Cajun Man" thinks they are, he will make it sound like the team hasn't won a game. It's probably in your best interest to just listen and not argue that the Saints could win their division this year.

Next, like all Cajun people do, you may even be asked how your parents have been. Every true Cajun cares and don't be shocked if you are asked at the Thanksgiving dinner table, "How's your Mom and them?" Just be polite and let him know because he truly does care about them if he's asking.

While enjoying your Thanksgiving dinner a "Cajun Man" may remind you to eat as much as you can. You may even be reminded that you "need some meat on those bones." Don't take it as an insult, but rather smile and enjoy your meal.

Now here's one we hope you don't have to endure, but "Cajun Man" may bring up politics and the current state of the world at the table. There's a lot of turmoil in the world these days and a good old Cajun Man may remind you that if Trump was President of the United States none of this would be happening. People down south love former President Trump so just let this conversation roll. The last thing anyone wants is a political debate at the Thanksgiving dinner table.

"Cajun Man" may also bring up more sports talk for Thanksgiving. This time, don't be shocked if you hear that LSU Coach Brian Kelly is overrated. LSU fans had big expectations this year, but a National Championship is now out of the equation. Just remind him that Coach Kelly is building for the future and give him a good, "Geaux Tigers!"

In conversation, a good old Cajun Man on Thanksgiving may express his displeasure for the current Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Times have changed and he may not like what he sees or hears on television. Don't be shocked if a Cajun Man tells you, "Things just aren't what they used to be." It's coming.

Thanksgiving is a time that signifies the holidays are truly here so an old "Cajun Man" may remind you on "Turkey Day" that you don't need to buy or get him anything for Christmas. Again, don't argue with him, but rather encourage him to accept whatever anyone gets him.

These are just a few things you may hear from a "Cajun Man" while at the Thanksgiving dinner table, but let me add one more. Your Honorable Mention here has to do with your weight.

We've all been there so don't be shocked or insulted if someone who hasn't seen in you a while tells you, "It looks like you gained some weight, but you look healthy." Any old "Cajun Man" who hasn't seen you in a few years will be observant and vocal. Don't let their words bother you.
