Thoughts on Saturday’s Elections

Don't vote if you don't know what you're voting on. I know everybody usually says, "Make your voice heard" and I agree, but only if you know who and what you're voting for or against. If the first time you've heard of the Home Rule Charter referendum or the $561 million bond referendum is Saturday when you're behind the curtain, don't vote! You can view a sample ballot on the Louisiana Secretary of State's website. The Louisiana Public Affairs Research Council has explanations of the statewide referendums and our sister station, NewsTalk 96.5 KPEL, has posted interviews with the candidates. There are also lots of opinion pieces on the internet regarding the parish-wide elections.
