If movies and TV have taught us anything, it's that all mothers are NOT created equal. While some fictional moms might be willing to play the doting matriarch, others engage in twisted mind games, dole out severe corporal punishment and even commit murder most foul. Think about that the next time you forget to call your mom on Mother's Day.
Mom taught us a bunch of things, and thanks to Cathy Daudey, who sent me this email, we can now reflect on the things our mothers embedded into our brains.
Acadiana, I'd like you to meet my mom. She loved country music, Conway Twitty, her son and thought her grand kids hung the moon. She didn't care to cook much, but loved to sew. She was probably one of the most incredible women on Earth, and I never took the time to notice until it was too late.
Worried about where to take your mom on Mother’s Day to show her just how much you appreciate her?
Well, Hooters is here to help.
Listen all day Thursday, May 9, 2013 for your chance to win KTDY’s Big Mother’s Day Giveaway! We'll be giving away a dozen roses from Leona Sue’s, $50 gift card from Copeland’s, and a 30 minute massage from Great Escape every hour
Mothers have been communicating with their children via handwritten notes for years. Some mothers put more of a humorous spin on their notes than others, however. With Mother's Day right around the corner, we're hoping the children of the moms behind these hilarious notes have something awesome planned for them:
I Owe it all to My Mother....
1. My mother taught me TO APPRECIATE A JOB WELL DONE .
"If you're going to kill each other, do it outside.. I just finished cleaning."
Retailers and greeting card companies would like you to think Father’s Day is just as important as Mother’s Day. Is that really the case?
As the 2012 presidential race continues to heat up, voters are paying close attention to all the candidates (we’re hoping), even how they react to Mother’s Day. To celebrate moms everywhere (and in an effort to snag your future votes), President Barack Obama and presidential candidate Mitt Romney both released video tributes to honor the most important women in their lives.
This is Melba Montgomery's video version of the 1974 hit 'No Charge'. Being a Mother is a gift yet the pay isn't so great. But I bet if you polled Moms all over the world, most would answer, no payment is necessary. All Mom ever has to hear is, "I love you Mom" and the bill is paid in full.
Happy Mother's Day Acadiana! I thought I'd re-post this in honor of Mother's Day 2012. I have been told many times that children are special, but grand children or even more special.
