May 16, 2012 While we were recovering from Festival International and Jazz Fest here at home, folks in California were celebrating our culture on Harbor Island in San Diego Bay. The Louisiana Office of Tourism sponsored 'Gator by the Bay' which featured music and food from the Bayou State and Lafayette - they even gave away a trip to Louisiana! Bands included and Grammy Award winning Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band, KeithFrank and the Soileau Zydeco Band, and Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys.

Now, he hopes to make the transition to congressman. He is running for Congress as a Democrat representing California’s 26th Congressional District.
