It's a story we broke a while back, and now police in St. Martinville are addressing a curfew that has been imposed within the city limits.

In an effort to curb crime in St. Martinville, the police there have imposed a curfew for juveniles within the city.

Police feel that if they can get young kids off of the streets at night, this will help prevent crime within the city while keeping young people safe.

So, the St. Martinville Police Department is reminding everyone that there is a city-wide curfew for juveniles in the city and that they will be enforcing it.

According to a social media post by the police department, the curfew times for juveniles are as such:

9:00 pm to 6:00 am Sunday thru Thursday
10:00 pm to 6:00 am Friday and Saturday

Police say that those over the age of 15, but under 17 years old will NOT be cited by an officer if they are out past curfew times if they are going to work, going to a school activity, or with a parent or guardian.

If you or someone you know resides in St. Martinville, this is some important information and it most certainly warrants a share on social media so that everyone is aware of this law.

Here's the post from the St. Martinville Police Dept. reminding everyone of the curfew in their city.
