Reverend Al Sharpton, Jr., his non profit National Action Network, and two of his businesses owe more than 4 million dollars in back taxes. The New York Post reports, he owes the state of New York nearly $807,000 in personal taxes, in addition to 2.6 million dollars in federal tax liens. Sharpton's National Action Network owes the US government nearly $814,000 in back taxes as of the end of 2012. The post reports  Rev-Al Communications owes the state almost 448 thousand dollars. A CNN timeline indicates Sharpton was chrged with 67 felony counts of tax evasion in 1989. He pleaded guilty to a lesser misdemeanor charge. Sharpton was sued by attorney Steven Pagones for libel in connection with false allegations Pagones had raped 15 year old Tawana Brawley. Pagones was awarded a $65,000.00 judgement which Sharpton has allegedly not paid.
