A police officer in Baton Rouge, Louisiana was jumped by students while attempting to break up a fight at a school

WBRZ reports that a Baton Rouge Police officer was jumped by students at the IDEA Bridge school Wednesday afternoon.

The officer was reportedly trying to break up a fight on the campus when another student allegedly struck the officer in the back of the head.

That is when the officer fell to the ground and more students allegedly started to attack the officer on the ground.

The Baton Rouge television station reports that the officer on the ground did deploy his taser but it was unknown if any students were hit by it.

Another officer did respond to the fight on the campus and was able to assist the officer that was attacked and together they were able to get control of the situation.

WBRZ does report that three students were taken into custody as a result of their involvement in this incident.
