One Lane of I-49 to Be Closed Next Week

Beginning Tuesday, September 24, until Wednesday, September 25, I- 49, in St. Landry Parish, will be reduced to one lane in the northbound direction to allow crews to work on interstate lighting related to the Grand Prairie Rest Area renovation project.

The lane closure will take place between the entrance and exit ramps to the Grand Prairie Rest Area, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.

Renovations for the $2.4 million project include remodeling the restroom and vending facilities, adding a dividing wall at the boat launch area, and expanding the parking area.  Work on the project began in March 2013 and is estimated for completion in February 2014.
