Be careful if you're traveling on Interstate 10, between Jennings and the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge tonight. Traffic will be reduced to one lane for a moving operation in both the eastbound and westbound directions between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

I wonder what they're moving?

Turns out they're not moving anything except their trucks. DOTD will be conducting retroreflectivity testing that evaluates the reflectance value of the pavement markings along the interstate. This is referred to as a 'moving operation' since traffic will be shifted from one lane to the next in order to conduct proper testing. Additionally, the lanes will not close for the entire length of the testing. The closures will take place in short continuous sections.

Now we know!
