A money scam has emerged again in Lafayette. On April 21, 2011, at approximately 12:15 pm, a victim was approached by two black females outside of a business in the 3500 block of Ambassador Caffery Parkway. One of the suspects questioned whether the victim was able to get $1000 in cash. The suspects advised the victim that they could take the $1000’s and return later to give the victim back $4000. The victim drove to an area bank and retrieved the money, returning to the parking lot to meet with the suspects. The victim turned over the cash to one of the suspects who then left the area.  The suspects never returned to meet with the victim.

Detectives are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the two suspects in the theft. Anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspects is asked to call Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
