Meet Pete Frates, The Guy Who Is The Reason For The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge [VIDEO]

The ice bucket phenomenon is due to one amazing man, his name is Pete Frates.  Frates, a former Boston College baseball captain, has inspired the world to take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge for one simple goal, to stamp out ALS.

SportsCenter did a feature on this extraordinary individual who has inspired the efforts of many to raise millions to fight a horrible disease.  Frates who suffers from ALS,  had friends who invited the world to take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge when he could no longer speak.  He took to social media.

As of August it has been reported that donations are approaching 15 million dollars.  Amazing what one man can do to inspire people worldwide...and not have to speak a word.
