Happily Ever After

Hear stories from folk and fairy tales as told by the Bayouland Storytellers Guild of Southwest Louisiana. Canned fruits and vegetables will be collected to assist the Council on Aging-Meals on Wheels Program.

Friends of the Library Book Sale & Silent Auction

The Friends of the Library will hold their bi-annual sale at the Heymann Center on the following dates. Both paperback and hardback books will be sold by the inch.

Friends of the Library members are invited to the preview night of the Friends Book Sale from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 10 at the Heymann Center. Please bring your Friends postcard to enter and get first pick of the selection.  Friends memberships will be available at the door.

The Friends of the Library are also holding a silent auction for the only the most special and unique items. Bidding will begin on September 1 and end on September 26. Bids may be placed at the South Regional Library.

Skin Care Awareness for Teens

iPad Basics: Free Computer Class

Celebrating Ernest Gaines

Ernest Gaines’ first book, Catherine Carmier, was first published 50 years ago this October. We are celebrating his various works in partnership with the Ernest J. Gaines Center on the University of Louisiana at Lafayette campus.

Bad Art Fête

The most awful, tacky, eccentric, shabby, and absolute worst art imaginable is encouraged for the Fall Bad Art Fete. All art must be original, suitable for all ages, and not exceed the dimensions of a poster. Art may be created at home or with the supplies available at the Jefferson Street Branch. Only one entry is allowed per person. Voting by patrons will be open during the October ArtWalk and winners will be awarded with special prizes. All ages are welcome to participate.
