Lafayette native Patrick Broussard is on the road to priesthood.
KATC reports, he will have the honor of serving as a Deacon for Pope Francis at Saturday's Easter Vigil on the main altar in St. Peter's Basilica.
He was ordained as Transitional Deacon last October in Rome. His father, Steve Broussard said, "I just want to see his face on TV on the altar with the Pope, that's going to be very heart warming, and my wife will be there to see it in person. He'll be a good Priest, Deacon Patrick sounds good, but Father Patrick has a good ring to it."
People in Lafayette can view the The mass on "EWTN," Cox channel 19, or LUS channel 9, Saturday from 1:30-4:30 pm.
