Yesterday I held the door for two people and they just walked through as though I was invisible, as though the door was automatic.  Should people still say thank you or have I just turned old and living in the past?

I know it's 2019, but if I hold a door open for a male or female, I think a "thank you" is in order.  Now that's not why I do it.  I don't hold a door expecting anything in return.  I simply believe it's the right response.  It's like when you're talking on the phone, you don't hang up with saying "bye".

So many things are changing in our world, some good changes, some not so good.  If the new thing is not saying "thank you" when someone holds a door open, that would fall under the "not so good" category in my opinion.
