Vermilionville Living History Museum & Folklife Park invites the public to celebrate Halloween at the village with Boo Bayou, a Fall Carnival for the whole family being held on Saturday, October 29 from 12 – 2 p.m. There will be plenty to keep the kids busy including games, costume contest, trick-or-treating throughout the historic village and entertainment provided by Louisiana Performance Center & Mitch Richard the Strolling Magician.

Games   12 – 1:30 p.m.
Toss Across, Ladder Ball, Tin Can Knock’ Um Down, Trundle & Hoop, Bobbing for Apples with Clothespins, Turkey and the Straw, Face Painting, Fishing for Candy, Coloring Station, Cookie Jack-o-Lanterns, Bobbing Boats, Trick-or-Treat Bag Making and the Gross Grab.

Picture Station   12 – 2 p.m.
Vermilionville provides the backdrop, you provide the camera! Take your child’s picture on a Halloween backdrop and bring home a special keepsake from Boo Bayou.

Costume Contest   1 – 1:30 p.m.
Do you think your child’s costume has what it takes to win the contest? Just select which category you want to compete in: 0 to 6 years, 7 and up, most original, scariest or funniest. Each category will have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner decided by student judges.

Trick or Treating   1:30 – 2 p.m.
Your kids will love trick or treating throughout Vermilionville’s historic village and visiting with our artisans at the Maison des Cultures, Boat Shed, Beau Bassin,Schoolhouse, Mouton House, Buller, Chapel, Boucvalt and the Broussard Kitchen.
