The school year is only a few weeks in and we are already getting reports of bomb threats to schools in south Louisiana.

Several schools in Evangeline Parish were put under lockdown Monday morning after calls were made to the schools informing them that a pipe bomb was on campus.

All of the schools that received the threats were evacuated and officials swept the campuses before students were allowed to return to class.

No threats were found on any of the campuses in Evangeline Parish.

The lockdown on the campuses has been lifted. but the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating the threats made.

Evangeline Parish isn't the only parish in Louisiana to receive such threats. Livingston Parish Schools were closed to start the week due to threats as well.

If there are any updates to provide we will share them here and on this station's mobile app.
