I'm battling acute bronchitis. Ugh. My New Year's trip to Florida, where everything's blooming, aggravated my allergies and I guess I picked up a virus, too. The combination has thrown me for a loop. Thanks to a flu shot in September, the care of a wonderful doctor and modern pharmaceuticals, and the fact that it's mostly been just annoying and not painful, I've kept going (you can't take two weeks off work for a cold!)

I'm a fine one to be giving advice at this point, but these things have helped me - tips to get through cold and flu season, sick or not:

1. Hand Sanitizer is your best friend. Keep some everywhere. Your desk, your purse, your car, everywhere!

2. Wash your hands whenever possible. Sanitizer/lotion is good, too because your hands will get so dry with all that hand washing, sick or not.

3. Stay home if you possibly can once you catch something. Especially the flu.

4. Get plenty of rest. Seriously. This really does help.

5. Drink plenty of water. It helps thin the gunk.

6. Accept the fact that you need help.

7. Puffs Plus. The store brand knockoffs are just not as good. If you're blowing your nose a dozen times a day, you will be glad you spent the extra buck.

8. If it's bad, suck it up and go see a doctor.

Get well. Stay well. Be well.

Deb
