COVID Vaccine Administered in Historic Cathedral

If I am going to be getting the COVID vaccine, I would love to be able to receive it in a place like this!

Some residents in Salisbury, UK are lining up to receive their coronavirus vaccine at the Salisbury Cathedral, which began construction in 1220.

Services at the cathedral have been temporarily suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, so it makes a great place for health care professionals to administer the vaccine. The church is convenient (in the middle of town), it protects the residents from the elements, and it is HUGE, so people can gather in large numbers while staying distanced safely.

One man trying to make the situation a little more relaxed is David Halls, the music director at Salisbury Cathedral. He's been going to the church every day during the vaccination "clinic" and playing the organ. According to the AP, Halls said that he thinks having the music will help relax people in what is probably a stressful situation.

This cathedral, according to its website, has the tallest spire of any church in Britain and houses one of the 4 remaining original copies of the Magna Carta, signed by King John in 1215.

One of my favorite things to do when visiting Europe is exploring churches and cathedrals, especially the really old ones. This one is now on my bucket list.
