How would you react to this? Theguardian.com reports a pair of English newlyweds recently emailed a wedding guest to suggest she ought to send an "adjustment' to her gift. The guest was a former co-worker of the bride. She gave the couple a card with a check for 100 pounds (roughly $145). A few days later, the woman received an email suggesting she'd been cheap. She'd recently inherited an undisclosed sum of money, and the email read, “We were surprised that your contribution didn’t seem to match the warmth of your good wishes on our big day. In view of your own position, if you wanted to send any adjustment it would be thankfully received.” The woman was somewhat taken aback, and posted to mumsnet, seeking advice. She used the handle Puzzledandpissedoff. The vast majority of more than a thousand people responses were overwhelmingly supportive. It seems to me, they invited her because they knew of her inheritance. What would you do?
