I've been a BB King fan since I first heard "The Thrill is Gone" on a portable AM radio with a 3" speaker. I was 13. Over the years, it seems something always prevented me from seeing him perform live, until last year. I attended a performance at Cypress Bayou Casino. He was clearly a shadow of his former self at age 89. Nonetheless it was BB KING!! He laid down some tasty guitar licks with very little apparent effort and had a great band. That covers one item on my bucket list. I'm sad to say, Riley King (his given name) is near the end. The circumstances are sad, and all too familiar. Rolling Stone reports, he's in home hospice care and a legal battle is being waged between his long time manager and his family. They're fighting for control of his affairs, and estate, estimated at about 5 million dollars. King's long time manager, Laverne Toney, has his power of attorney.  Long time friends Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Willie Nelson and Buddy Guy have reportedly been forbidden to visit.
