UPDATE ** Alexandria Man Arrested In Lafayette Double Shooting

On January 4, 2016, Lafayette Police and the Lafayette City Marshal’s Office arrested Tavis Jenkins at an apartment complex in the 2700 block of Ambassador Caffery Pkwy.  Jenkins was arrested without incident.  The investigation remains ongoing.

21 year - old Tavis Jenkins of Alexandria is being sought for a double shooting at a Lafayette apartment last Sunday.

KATC reports that witnesses said Jenkins shot the two victims during an altercation at a Lafayette apartment. The victims, 17-year-old Antonio Means, of Lafayette, died from his injuries at a local hospital while the second victim, a 23-year-old male, is in critical condition at a local hospital.

Warrants have been issued for Jenkins for 1 count of 1st Degree Murder and 2 counts of Attempted 1st Degree Murder.
