LiveScience.com has come up with 4 things that make you feel colder than you really are.  So far we haven't had snow in Louisiana this winter, but you can bet the cold air will be arriving soon.  And when it does, you may be doing some things to make your body feel colder than it really is.

One thing that may make you feel cold is being used to warm weather.  Being from south Louisiana, if you go someplace that's cold, you won't deal with the cold as well as people who live there.  Your body will acclimate to it but it will take a while.

There's not much you can do about your age, but if you're over 60, the body has a harder time warming up.  You see, shivering is your body's natural way of keeping warn by making your muscles spasm.  As you get older, your body does not shiver as well.  As a side note, babies don't shiver at all.  Humans can't shiver until about 2-years-old.

Being over 60.  Not much you can do about it, but here's why:  Shivering is your body's way of keeping warm by making your muscles spasm.  But as you age, it doesn't work as well.  And you don't develop the ability to shiver until you're about two, so babies don't do it at all.

Certain medications can make you colder.  High blood pressure drugs like beta-blockers can make the body more sensitive to cold.

And the number one thing that will make you feel colder than it really is, is not eating enough.  The body needs food to stay warm and also lots of hydration.
