We don't have an In-N-Out Burger in Louisiana but thanks to this local TikToker, you might be able to have a "double-double" in time for dinner tonight.

TikTok creator @britscookin is a self-described south Louisiana foodie from Loreauville and in one of her recent videos she set out to duplicate the In-N-Out Burger recipe.

To my knowledge, the closest official In-N-Out Burger restaurant is in Katy, TX but their locations are primarily in California and throughout the Southwest United States.

Basically, unless you've got any business driving to Houston, grabbing a double-double from In-N-Out Burger is a bit of a stretch.

Recently, my wife informed me that we would be heading over to my father-in-law's house to "make smash burgers." What I didn't know, is that she actually saw this video from @britscookin and wanted to try out the recipe on her dad's Blackstone grill.

As far as I could tell, the ingredients were minimal, so I was a bit sus about the whole operation, but I was down for smash burgers—even if they came out like trash. Somewhere along the way, I realized this TikTok video was actually a DIY In-N-Out Burger experiment—so, at that point, I was fully bought in.

What I didn't know was that I wasn't prepared for this cookout in the slightest. I'll get to more on that later.

First things first, we grabbed some ground meat and formed them into meatballs while the Blackstone grill heated up.

Next, we threw the meatballs on the grill. One thing to keep in mind is that I never actually watched the video that inspired this whole "smash burgers" outing, so while you may see @britscookin smashing her meat down into perfect patties, I was forcing our meat down with a flimsy spatula.

Remember that part earlier where I told you I wasn't prepared? Yeah, we've reached that point. But on we go. The grill is hot and these burgers are cooking regardless of my lackluster spatula situation.

There was no real seasoning. I'm a firm believer in "less is more" and the recipe called for salt and pepper, with some squirts of mustard on the burgers while they sizzled on the grill. At this point, I've powered through burning my hands and I'm demanding that my relatives only communicate with me by yelling "YES, CHEF!"

I flipped the burgers over while the Blackstone grill screamed back at us with the aroma of mustard mixing with the salt and pepper. We're getting there.

Next, we added cheese that melted while these bad boys continued to cook and soon we were ready to toast some buns. We let the natural flavors of the grill sit while the buns got golden brown and my wife mixed up a sauce made from simple mayo, ketchup, and relish.

The only thing we did differently was opting to keep the onions raw as opposed to grilling them.

In the end, we all assembled our faux In-N-Out smash burgers and I'm here to tell you that it's about as close as you can get to the real thing without having to fly or drive three hours west.

I'm gonna stand by that statement being that I literally had In-N-Out while visiting Los Angeles just a few days before I was roped into trying out the smash burger recipe that @britscookin shared on social media.

Speaking of which, she's got tons of other videos cooking a variety of other things from Cajun staples to simple dishes that are quick and easy for the whole family to enjoy.

The best part is that she's just having fun and doesn't take herself too seriously.

So it's easy to follow along and try out some of the things that she posts because most of us aren't trying to be the next Emeril Lagasse either.

Check out her TikTok as well as her Instagram by searching @britscookin and let me know if you try out the smash burger recipe or any of the other recipes that Brit has shared on her page.
