The Utica, NY Common Council recently voted to rename a local street in honor of former Thomas R. Proctor High School standout and New Orleans Saint Will Smith.

Lite987.com reports that Armory Drive in Utica, NY will be officially be renamed to "Will Smith Memorial Way" in an upcoming ceremony.

The road is adjacent to the Proctor football stadium where Smith played High School football.

The signs will also sport the Sants' colors of black and gold!

The new street signs will bear Will Smith's name, one sign with Proctor High School's colors where Smith wore the number 80, and another sign with the Saint's black and gold.

Councilperson Samantha Colosimo-Testa tells lite987.com -

"Will was a dedicated father, friend, and a true member of our community. He is a champion but most importantly a hero to us all, a hero who's legacy that will live on forever. A true Raider and beloved Saint."
