United Drops Direct Flights From Lafayette To Denver

Bad news for skiers and oilfield personnel in Acadiana. United Airlines has announced it will discontinue direct flights from the Hub City to Denver. AP reports Lafayette Regional Airport Executive Director Steven Picou found the decision somewhat curious, given the cancellation date is October 23rd, right before ski season. Colorado resorts like Vail, Breckenridge, and Steamboat Springs are popular destinations for skiers form Acadiana. There is also a substantial amount of oilfield related travel between the two cities.
