The 21st-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns certainly had a Good Friday at Lamson Park.

Louisiana swept a Sun Belt Conference doubleheader from the South Alabama Jaguars, winning the first game, 7-1, before also winning the nightcap, 5-4, in 8 innings.

The doubleheader represented the first two games of a three-game, weekend, conference series.

The twinbill sweep cinches another conference series win for Louisiana, extending their league series win streak to 41-straight, dating back to March of 2013.

In the opener, Louisiana drew first blood, plating a run in the bottom half of the first inning, when Brittany Rodriguez walked to begin the frame, before later scoring on a clutch two-out single off the bat of Beth Ashley, to give them a quick 1-0 lead.

South Alabama tied it in the top half of the fourth inning, when Brittani Reid blasted a two-out solo homer, her third of the season, to make it 1-1.

The Cajuns took the lead for good in the bottom half of the 5th inning, when Kourtney Gremillion smashed a two-run homer, her second of the season, to give them a 3-1 advantage.

UL blew the game wide open in the bottom half of the 6th inning, scoring four runs on three hits, including a run-scoring double by Lexie Comeaux and a two-run single off the bat of Kelli Martinez, to make it 7-1.

That would be all that Louisiana would need, as they went on to the 6-run triumph
