The findings were based on a survey that I don't think most of us had a chance to take.

Last year, Candystore.com declared that Lemonheads were the most popular candy in Louisiana. This was based on a decade's worth of sales that revealed that the second two most - popular candies were Blow Pops and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. I'm not hating on anyone because of their candy choices, but I'd bet good money that most people you run into every day would say their favorite Halloween candy is Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and wouldn't even mention those other two. Candystore.com based their findings on their own sales, but I don't think enough people here in Louisiana are using that site to order candy to make their findings definitive.

So this year, we have another strange declaration of the most popular Halloween candy in Louisiana. BidOnEquipment.com conducted a survey of 2, 004 people across the country. Why did they choose such a small number of people to survey? Why do they think such a small number says much? Who are these people? I don't have the answers to those questions, but I do have their findings: AirHeads are the most popular Halloween candy in Louisiana.

AirHeads. Not Lemonheads or Blow Pops or even Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. AirHeads. I don't have anything against AirHeads, but I do have a problem with these obscure websites stating their findings as gospel truth when they haven't done much real homework. I did a lot of trick or treating with my kids over the years and when I was a kid myself and hand out candy each year. I see more Reese's and Twix and Hershey's miniatures and Tootsie Roll Pops and those gummy body parts than I see Lemonheads or Airheads. Those are my survey findings and I'm sticking to them.
