He was one of the hottest memes during Hurricane Barry, but Ari Latino has a story that deserves to be told.

The 19-year-old interpreter went viral for his animated signing style after someone on Facebook decided to throw Migos' "Pure Water" over a clip of him signing. It seemingly lined up perfectly and everyone who watched it instantly fell in love with Latino's swagger.

What's incredible about Ari is that he is deaf and signing through his own interpreter in the audience. According to WBRZ, Ari's status as a "native signer" allows him to

speak more directly to a deaf audience and can sign the messages more conversationally – perhaps even easier to understand – for deaf viewers. He can essentially sign a “dialect” that a person who is trying to sign directly from what they hear may not be able to communicate.

Ari says he really wants "to help the deaf people."

[I don’t want] deaf people to feel left out. I want the deaf to really understand, clearly, what’s happening and not to have any misunderstandings or feel like they’re in danger.

Ari's work with the Ascension Parish government is assigned through the Deaf Focus organization, and hopefully, we won't have to wait for a disaster in the area to hear from him again.

In the meantime, you should donate to his non-profit cause.

Hats off to Ari for his amazing work and we can't wait to see the things he accomplishes in his career.
