The Collection of Elizabeth Taylor auction on Tuesday, December 13, was exceptional taking in nearly $116 million, a world record for a private collection of jewels.  On Tuesday, Christie’s New York, auctioned off some of Elizabeth Taylor's most precious jewels.  Taylor, who had impeccable taste, proved even in death, she still commands a room.

The auction broke six other world records.  Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor was like many of the items she owned, one of a kind.  Worth nearly 1 Billion at the time of her death, with an average income of 77 million per year from perfume sales alone, Elizabeth Taylor will follow in the footprints of her friend Michael Jackson, and the likes of Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe.

Only a portion of Elizabeth Taylor's collection has been put on the auction block, there is much more to come.
