Drive-By Shooting

Local authorities swiftly apprehended suspect in Abbeville drive-by shooting incident on LA Highway 695.

The incident occurred in the 1000 block of Potato Shed Road at the intersection of Grand Anse Highway at approximately 6:30 pm on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.

Upon arrival, officers found two male victims with multiple gunshot wounds and a third victim in critical condition.

Officers with the Lafayette Police Department are asking for information about a deadly shooting.

Witnesses tell Lafayette Police officials a drive-by shooter fired from the sunroof.

Hernandez was reportedly on the phone with her mother when the witness got to the car and could be heard saying, "I'm not going to make it, Mom. I'm not going to make it".

Abbeville Police officials were able to track down two men whom they believe are responsible for a drive-by shooting that happened on February 16.

25-year-old Justin Martin of Lafayette has been arrested and charged with the attempted murder of three people who were walking from Moss Street to their home in Lafayette.
