This past Friday morning, December 7, 2018, Debbie Ray said goodbye to after over 40 years of being an Acadiana broadcaster. The night before her big sendoff, a private surprise retirement party was held in her honor.
One morning, I guess a little over a month ago, we ended the show at 10am and Debbie Ray asked me if I had a second. And I know it sounds weird, but I knew what she was going to say to me. She said, "I wanted you to be the first to know that I've decided to retire". And I said, "I always said when it was time, you'd know." And that was it.
Every weekday, CJ and Debbie Ray share a 'Good Morning' picture. This little movie is a compilation of those pics. In this month's edition, you'll see a lot of JayCee, too, because he filled in when CJ and Deb were on vacation.
Look for CJ's Elvis sneakers, plus a few more of our favorite faces, including Jaycee, Todd and Desiree from the Cracklin Festival, Kelly Courville from Moncus Park, And Michelle Izz-Voss from Faith House!
Look for some special visitors this month, including Molly from DSAA, Lea from Zoosiana (who brought an albino corn snake along!) Jerri from Moody Gardens, Prissy and Melanie from the Breast Center of Acadiana, and a delicious pecan pie from Tracy!
Shoe Boxes for Seniors returns next month for year three. KTDY collects shoe boxes filled with items useful to seniors in the Acadiana area. With the help of the Cajun Area Agency On Aging , The Blake At Lafayette and The Bayou Church, aging citizens will get a special treat this holiday. But we can't do it without your help.
