Streetlight Upgrades Will Save City Of Lafayette An Estimated Half-A-Million Dollars A Year

Reports show that the City of Lafayette will soon begin working on upgrading street lights to LED bulbs around throughout the city. Projections show that the upgrades could save the City of Lafayette $500,000 or more per year.

According to the above report, the 21,000 LED lights will be installed over an estimated two-year period that will begin at the end of this year.

The report also includes word from Public Information Specialist Alex Antonowitsch who said that the upgrade will not only save the City of Lafayette an estimated half-a-million dollars or more each year, but it will also make the area safer. Traffic visibility at night will improve which will increase public safety.

LUS will be hard at work upgrading these lights over the next couple of years, which seems to be a slam-dunk as far as upgrading our city is concerned.
