St. Martinville Hosts Veteran’s Day Celebration On November 10
Various activities are set to take place at the Longfellow - Evangeline State Historic Site.
The City of St. Martinville, Isidore Lewis, Jr., and American Legion Post 419 host A St. Martinville Veterans Day Celebration from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Longfellow-Evangeline State Historic Site.
All veterans are invited to enjoy a fellowship breakfast from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.
The Veterans Day ceremony begins at 9 am with a flag raising, followed by the pledge and a 21-gun salute. A special veteran guest speaker has been invited. There will also be a special tribute to veterans who were POWS. A Veteran`s Prayer will end these ceremonies.
The Cajun and Creole Cookers will serve a meal at noon, followed by breakout sessions from 1 - 3 offering information and discussions about topics including gun safety and nature survival, and basic camping skills.
