The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the Make-A-Wish Foundation gave a six-year-old cancer survivor the thrill of a lifetime. Archer, from Austin, Texas, was allowed to blow up a Texas overpass over the weekend.

The Texas Department of Transportation granted the six-year-old permission to press the button that imploded a part of U.S. Highway 183 and the Interstate 35 flyover just after 6 a.m. Saturday. Highway 183, I-35 and all nearby roadways were closed for two hours.

TxDOT was in the process of demolishing the flyover to make it not so steep. The new flyover will also be longer. There was one part of the overpass left to be demolished...and Archer did it with one touch of a button. And it was loud.

I blew up a bridge. It was fun and it was loud.-Six-year-old Leukemia survivor Archer

Crews will start the rebuilding process. Construction is expected to take 4 months.
