Shooting At Boys And Girls Club In Lafayette

Update: Lafayette Police say a 15-year-old boy sits in the Lafayette Parish Juvenile Detention Center while the other boy sits in a hospital in critical condition following the incident. The accused shooter is being charged with Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Possession of a Firearm by a Juvenile and Gun Free Zone.

Officers continue to investigate.

A fight between two boys has landed one of them in the hospital in critical condition while the Lafayette Police officers are searching for the other one.

Authorities say the two got into a fight while playing basketball, one of them pulled out a handgun and shot the 17-year-old multiple times.

Detectives are trying to determine the identity of the shooter.
